Porting out a VOIP Number


Porting procedure has changed across the industry as of March 2014, and those wishing to port a number now put their Retail Service provider and account number on the porting form. 

It is designed to make it easier so the customer doesn’t have to get all the top level details which can be difficult with some companies.
The gaining provider provides all the paperwork and process, all the customer needs is basically what appears on the retail invoice, so the very end/actual customer, whatever appears on their invoice as far as Provider and account number goes, that’s what they give to the gaining carrier.
