Website Error: Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#12sf12.MYI' (Errcode: 28)"

Follow

This error can occur if the /tmp directory fills up, either because it has run out of Disk Space or Inodes.

It can sometimes occur that Apache doesn't clean up the "sess_xxxxxxx" files after a certain time, and with many individual hits to the server, it can fill up your inodes on the disk.

If this is the case, it is possible to add a crontab, in order to clear the session files after a few days.

An example command is found below;

find /tmp -type f -name "sess_*" -mtime +3 -exec rm -f {} \;

This command will look for files starting with sess_ that have not been modified in the last 3 days, and remove them from the /tmp directory.
